Olay, Selimiye Mahallesi'nde dün gece saatlerinde meydana geldi. Edinilen bilgiye göre, bir araya gelen H.B. (33) ile amcasının oğlu Güvenç B. (40) arasında çıkan tartışma büyüyerek kavgaya dönüştü. Bunun üzerine H.B., kuzeni olan Güvenç B.'yi bıçakla yaraladı. İhbar üzerine olay yerine sevk edilen sağlık ekipleri tarafından Ordu Devlet Hastanesi’ne kaldırılan Güvenç B., burada yapılan tüm müdahalelere rağmen hayatını kaybetti.
Olayın ardından başlatılan çalışma sonucu H.B. polis ekipleri tarafından yakalandı.
