İlçede bu yıl 70'incisi gerçekleştirilen Geleneksel Zengibar Karakucak Güreş ve Kültür Festivali etkinlikleri kapsamında toplu açılış, temel atma ve sünnet töreni düzenlendi.

Hükümet Konağı önünde toplanan ilçe protokolü ve vatandaşlar, Mehter Takımı eşliğinde Hacı Hasan Akyol Çarşı Meydanı'na kadar kortej yürüyüşü yaptı.

AK Parti İstanbul Milletvekili Halis Dalkılıç, yaptığı konuşmada, memleketi Darende'de olmaktan duyduğu memnuniyeti dile getirerek, organizasyonun hayırlı olmasını diledi.

Kaymakam Ökkeş Safa Türkoğlu da organizasyonun sadece bir spor organizasyonu olmadığını, aynı zamanda ilçenin kültür ve geleneklerine sahip çıkma adına hayata geçirdiği bir kutlama olduğunu ifade etti.

Belediye Başkanı İsa Özkan ise deprem nedeniyle festivalde kısıtlamaya gidildiğini, buna rağmen organizasyonla halka farklı bir hava yaşatacaklarını kaydetti.

Etkinliğin ikinci bölümünde Zaviye Mahallesi'nde yapımı tamamlanan Ahmet-Gülbahar Çokyaşar Mahalle Konağı'nın açılışı gerçekleştirilerek, kurdelesi kesildi.

Festival kapsamında 75 çocuğun sünnet şöleni gerçekleştirildi.
